La Paz Waterfall Garden

Our last stop on our Costa Rican adventure turned out to be magical - in every single way! We stayed at the adventurous hotel "The Peace Lodge" at "La Paz Waterfall Garden", located deep into the cloud forest.

The rooms were spectacular; with your last name in the door plate, canopied bed, a stone fireplace, an actually waterfall at your bathroom located right next to your hot tub, huge balcony with a hummingbird feeder, a hammock, an outdoor Jacuzzi and a stunningly beautiful view of the cloud forest.

But what truly make this place unique, is the outdoor surroundings and activities. I've always imagined lush tropical rainforest, spectacular waterfalls, birds, butterflies, monkeys, sloths and hummingbirds when I thought of Costa Rica - and I guarantee you that this was exactly what we got at La Paz Waterfall Garden: Five magical waterfalls located on a 3,5 km walking trail, toucan hand feeding experience, marmoset monkeys (it's important to notice that all of their animals have either been confiscated as pets or injured so that the cannot go back to the wild), butterfly observatory and butterfly garden, sloths, capuchin monkeys and spider monkeys, wild hummingbird hand feeding, a truth lake to catch your own dinner, insect exhibit, jaguar, pumas and a traditional Tico house. On top of that the place is located a short drive from the two (in my opinion) most beautiful natural treasures that Costa Rica has to offer: Catarata Del Toro and the Poas Volcano.

Between the rooms, the views, the sounds, the nature, the service - this is hands down an experience of a lifetime. And what a perfectly, beautiful end to our trip! I'd really wish that I could turn back time, to experience this adventure all over again.
