If you ever find yourself in Provence you should definitely consider to swing by Gordes (a beautiful old mountain side village, perched on the southern edge of the high Plateau de Vaucluse) and treat yourself with a stay at La Bastide De Gordes!

Everything about that place is just phenomenal. Your room, the extraordinary hoteldecor, the tremendous views and the traditionally dressed staff - will all together make you feel like you're staying at a castle in the 18th century.. Or in the caves at the side of a mountain - which you actually are.

On top of that - Gordes is unconditionally the most beautiful and adorable village I've ever laid eyes on! I felt like a princess stepping right into the 18th century. It's kind of a funny story how we ended up staying at this magnificent hotel in the first place. After a David Gilmour concert in Orange and a long drive - we ended up in Gordes in the middle of the night. Little did we know, that we might as well could have been arriving in a ghost town – as literally everything was closed down and every light turned off during the night. Including our hotel! We tried about everything, but failed to get in touch with our hotel.. And that’s how we ended up at magnificent La Bastide De Gordes – the only hotel still awake in town. For that I'll be forever grateful!
