Every trip to Costa Rica should include an inspiring and beautiful visit at the spectacular Jaguar Rescue Center - a non-profit organization that works to rescue and rehabilitate wild animals with the aim of releasing them back into the rainforest. You'll get a unique and irreplaceable chance to meet the wild animals of Costa Rica up close - all while you're supporting a really good cause!

The place really is spectacular, and I got the feeling that the animals really loved to be there. They where all free to go and come as they liked: The monkeys where brought to the forest to play every morning - and even the bird cages where opened during the daylight. We even got a chance to meet Conga - a beautiful and friendly howler monkey who stayed at the Rescue Center for two years until she was released and joined a monkey troop near to the center about a year ago. Since then, Conga has been coming back to visit every week to say hello and get a free banana. She even brought back her new-born babies, which she proudly showed off, so adorable! If you ever find yourself in the area, I would highly and sincerely recommend you to stop by.

Another thing I would highly recommend is to stay at hotel Shawhanda Lodge - just a few steps away from some of the most beautiful paradise beaches I've ever laid eyes on.. And best part? We had them all to our self.
